South Island
Some of the sights in the South Island are among the most sought after destinations in the world. Although you can see all the main sights in one week, we recommend a 14-day tour to really take in all the highlights of the South Island. Must sees include the glaciers of the West Coast, majestic Fiordland, the beaches and wineries of Marlborough, and Northern Buller route from Westport to Karamea - a bit of an undiscoverd secret, Karamea is the beginning of the famous Heaphy track, a 4-day hike that takes you to Collingwood. Transport back to vehicle is easily arranged.

Far less populated than the North Island, there are plenty of places to pull over and spend the night along the way, from friendly village campgrounds to secluded alpine hideaways. Those with more time can linger in their favourite parts and really take advantage of Southern Kiwi Hospitality.
